What it is
Safflower oil is pressed from the seeds of Carthamus tinctorius, an ancient thistle-like crop once grown for its dye. The skincare-grade, high-linoleic type is light, pale and gentle.
With a very high linoleic-acid content and a fast, matte-ish absorption, it's a clean lightweight base — closely comparable to sunflower — well-suited to oily and combination skin.

How we use it
Safflower is a clean lightweight base — we use it where a blend needs to stay fast and matte, much like grapeseed or sunflower.
Its high linoleic content makes it a natural fit for facial blends aimed at oily and combination skin.
