Meadowfoam Seed Oil

The ultra-stable oil

A silky, golden oil pressed from meadowfoam seeds — built almost entirely from long-chain fatty acids that make it extraordinarily stable, sealing in moisture and adding lasting slip to a blend. Hover any measure to see where meadowfoam sits on the scale.

The Basics

What it is

Meadowfoam seed oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of Limnanthes alba, a low-growing North American wildflower whose white blooms blanket fields like foam. It is over 98% long-chain fatty acids — an unusual makeup that makes it remarkably resistant to oxidation.

That stability, plus a cushioning, moisture-sealing slip, makes it valued both as a conditioning oil in its own right and as a natural stabiliser that helps extend the life of a whole blend.

The Plant & The Seed

Meadowfoam flower

The Meadowfoam

A low wildflower whose dense white-and-yellow blooms carpet fields, giving the look of foam that earns its name.

Meadowfoam seeds

The Seeds

The seeds are pressed to yield a uniquely stable, long-chain oil with a silky feel.

Composition

The Compound Profile

Meadowfoam is dominated by rare long-chain fatty acids. The typical breakdown:

63%
Docosadienoic Acid C22:2 · long-chain

Beyond Fatty Acids

What makes meadowfoam exceptional:

Long-Chain Fatty Acids
Over 98% long-chain acids give it outstanding oxidative stability.
Natural Stabiliser
Often added to extend the shelf life of less stable oils in a blend.
Tocopherols (Vitamin E)
Antioxidants that further support its protective character.
Why People Love It

In Our Formulations

How we use it

Meadowfoam is a quiet workhorse — we use it for its silky slip and, just as importantly, to help stabilise and extend the life of our blends.

A little brings lasting smoothness and a moisture-sealing finish without heaviness.
